Engineered Hardwood Flooring

As trends and styles evolve towards wider plank widths, stability becomes a concern due to size and moisture constraints within the subfloors.

To solve this problem manufacturers in the hardwood flooring industry developed techniques to construct flooring planks with solid hardwood wear layers laminated on a premium plywood core for stability. This hybrid or “engineered” hardwood floor provides the greatest insurance policy for the project due to its multidirectional multilayered construction. Unlike its solid cousin, engineered planks are more moisture stable and allow the project to move forward with less acclimation time.

While unfinished engineered floors have been on the market for decades, up until recently have they been manufactured with larger top layers that rival solid floors. All our unfinished engineered hardwood floors are milled locally in Los Angeles and sourced from manufacturers in the United States. Available in both unfinished and prefinished upon request.
